This year’s Doc Morris & John D. Schopp Public Lecture will be given by Dr. Jess McIver, a postdoctoral scholar in experimental physics at Caltech. She will be speaking on the first-ever detection of gravitational waves made by the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) in September 2015. Dr. McIver will explain how LIGO made this ground-breaking discovery, and will describe its great historical significance and the bright future of gravitational wave astronomy.
Dr. McIver’s presentation will be held on Friday, April 28 at 6:30pm on the SDSU campus. All are welcome to attend. Please see the John D. Schopp Memorial Lecture page for further details.
